Roxy Rawrs to Victory at Laguna Seca: AO Racing’s Prehistoric Pink Porsche Claims First Win on Mother’s Day

MONTEREY, Cali. (May 12, 2025) – AO Racing’s beloved pink dinosaur, Roxy, made a triumphant return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship by clinching her first-ever GTD PRO class victory at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The win comes exactly one year after her green sibling, Rexy, secured AO Racing’s inaugural IMSA triumph at the same track exactly one year ago, adding another chapter to the ongoing sibling rivalry.

“What a day! Roxy got her first win at the same place that Rexy got his first win, which is a pretty cool story,” said Team Principal Gunnar Jeannette. “She’s going to be getting a golden manicure, and you better believe she’ll be showing it off every chance she gets.”

Piloted by Laurin Heinrich and Klaus Bachler, the No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 Rawr adorned in Roxy’s vibrant livery delivered a commanding performance. Bachler had a competitive, nail-biting start from fourth place, and maintained a strong top-three position before closing his stint. A strategic pit stop allowed Heinrich to take the lead, ultimately building a significant gap over competitors. The duo’s flawless execution led to a well-deserved victory, underscoring AO Racing’s continued prowess in the GTD PRO category.

After sitting on the sidelines while Rexy dominated headlines with back-to-back wins and a growing fanbase, Roxy wasn’t about to be outdone. The victory also marks the team’s sixth win in twelve races; a testament to the young team’s record of excellence. The win fell fittingly on Mother’s Day, adding a sentimental touch to the moment as fans celebrated with the team in Laguna Seca’s fan-friendly paddock. With her first win officially on the books and the sibling scorecard heating up, Roxy’s return marks the beginning of what promises to be a wild ride for the rest of the season.

AO Racing, the defending GTD PRO class champions, now hold a 70 point lead in the 2025 team and driver championship standings with seven races remaining.

I’m super happy. I have to give it to the team. They won three in a row. Two of those were with Klaus and me, and I’m extremely happy. Klaus had an amazing start, which was a huge key to our win today. We had a good pit stop and a mega strategy to win. Unlike last year, I didn’t have to pass a car to win the race. It really was a team effort to give us a track position and we just had to bring it home. Winning in pink on Mother’s Day with Roxy is great. It’s also my father’s birthday. I’m so happy to give both of my parents this appropriate present.

It was a fantastic race. It was incredible and I’m so proud to be a part of this team. The team has won three races in a row in two different classes, which is just incredible. Laurin and I were not in Long Beach, but we won Sebring and here in Laguna Seca in GTD PRO, which means we are leading the championship in the GTD PRO class. I’m really happy and proud of this. It was fully a team effort. The Porsche was just so good today, and with the strategy, we managed to go to the front. Laurin did a mega job in the last two hours. We have seven races to go, so the championship is still wide open. But we will work extremely hard and try to get this championship again like last year.
