The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is North America’s premier sports car racing series, featuring world-class teams, cutting-edge machinery, and legendary endurance races. Sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), the series brings together a mix of factory-backed and privateer efforts competing across four distinct classes: GTP (prototype), LMP2 (prototype), GTD Pro, and GTD (both based on GT3-spec cars).
With iconic events like the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and Motul Petit Le Mans, the championship blends high-speed action with strategic endurance and sprint racing across some of the continent’s most challenging circuits. From Daytona to Road Atlanta, the WeatherTech Championship showcases the very best in sports car competition and innovation.
AO Racing competes with Spike the dragon in the LMP2 class, which runs at seven of the 11 events listed in the calendar. Rexy, the Porsche 911 GT3 Rawr, and sometimes his prehistoric pink sister Roxy, compete in the GTD PRO class. The team returns to competition in 2026 as the LMP2 class champions with Spike the Dragon. In honor of his own 2024 championship title, Rexy sports a gold tooth with diamonds spelling out “24.”

PJ Hyett, team owner and driver at AO Racing, has proven himself a formidable competitor in sports car racing, earning the most pole positions of any IMSA WeatherTech driver in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He secured his first LMP2 prototype podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last summer, where he shared the cockpit with returning ELMS teammate Louis Delétraz. This year, he returns as the 2025 IMSA LMP2 Champion.

Dane Cameron is a seasoned IMSA champion with extensive experience across prototype and GT machinery. The reigning IMSA WeatherTech GTP class champion, the six-time professional sports car racing titleholder also competes alongside Hyett in AO by TF's full-season European Le Mans Series campaign. He returns as a champion again to race alongside PJ Hyett for a second season.

Jonny Edgar bolsters the team’s efforts in the Michelin Endurance Cup, which is comprised of five extended events. Edgar was a key part in the team's 2025 championship efforts.

Winner of the 2024 Rolex 24 At Daytona, Christian Rasmussen joins AO Racing for the 2026 running of the iconic endurance race, completing a formidable driver lineup.
This car seamlessly melds performance, technology, and safety. Its carbon fiber and honeycomb monocoque chassis, measuring 4.745 mm in length, 1.895 mm in width, and 1.045 mm in height, ensures a lightweight yet robust foundation, weighing only 930 kg.

The suspension system employs double wishbones with pushrod technology and adjustable PKM shocks. Customizable tire choices (30-68/R18 front, 31-71/R18 rear) adorn 12.5″ x 18″ front rims and 13″ x 18″ rear rims.
Efficient power transmission comes from the Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddles and a pneumatic paddle shift system. Ventilated carbon discs and six monobloc calipers provide formidable braking power.

Harry King will make his IMSA WeatherTech debut this season. In 2020, he earned the Autosport National Driver of the Year honor alongside capturing the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain championship. Most recently, King and his co-drivers claimed the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup title in the Gold class, further solidifying his rising-star status.

Alessio Picariello returns to the Rexy roster after two standout drives in 2025, opening the year at the Rolex 24 At Daytona and closing it with a triumphant run at the Twelve Hours of Sebring.
