Our History

2023

In our first season of full-time professional racing, we competed in the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD class with Rexy, the No. 80 Tyrannosaurus Rex Porsche 911 GT3 Rawr. In the FIA World Endurance Championship, we partnered with Project 1, running a full season and bringing Rexy to the iconic 24  Hours of Le Mans.

2024

AO Racing’s first foray into LMP2 racing began at the start of 2024 with a full season in the Asian Le Mans Series with Proton Competition running the No. 55 LMP2 Oreca.

In our sophomore year of racing in IMSA WeatherTech, AO Racing returned with Rexy, the No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GTD PRO class, joined by Spike, the No. 99 Oreca Dragon in the LMP2 class. Rexy earned the first professional motorsport win for AO Racing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with Sebastian Priaulx and Laurin Heinrich. The team concluded the 2024 season as the IMSA WeatherTech GTD PRO champions.

AO partnered up with TF Sport to enter the ORLEN Team AO by TF No. 14 Oreca 07 Gibson in the European Le Mans Series, driven by Robert Kubica, Louis Delétraz, and Jonny Edgar. The team clinched the 2024 championship titles in the final race of the season.

At the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Spike our Dragon won Hyperpole and finished in second place with drivers PJ Heyett, Louis Delétraz, and Alex Quinn.

2025

AO Racing completed a landmark 2025 season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Spike the LMP2 Dragon was piloted by PJ Hyett and Dane Cameron, supported by endurance additions Jonny Edgar and Christian Rasmussen. With three pole positions and two wins, Spike closed the season as the IMSA LMP2 class champion.

Rexy, the T-Rex Porsche 911 GT3 Rawr, returned to defend his title and remained a force at the front of the GTD PRO field. Laurin Heinrich and Klaus Bachler, joined by endurance ace Alessio Picariello, delivered AO Racing’s first endurance victory at the Twelve Hours of Sebring, along with two additional wins.

AO Racing also continued its partnership with TF Sport in the European Le Mans Series, contesting a second season, this time with Spike in LMP2. PJ Hyett, Dane Cameron, and Louis Deletraz captured four wins, secured the LMP2 PRO/AM championship, and celebrated victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 PRO/AM, along with a third-place finish in the overall LMP2 class.
