Project 1 AO Porsche RSR #56 will fight for victory!

Goal of the season: The last GTE victory in the World Championship.

PJ Hyett (USA), Gunnar Jeannette (USA) and Matteo Cairoli (ITA) will compete in Project 1’s optimally prepared and restyled Porsche RSR-19 in a large and strong field of competitors in the LM GTE AM class. Last week our team, led by team principal Axel Funke, already travelled to Sebring for a final test and to prepare for the season, which starts next Friday, 17 March, in Florida. This season there’s only one GTE class, and that means a new competition format, with new teams and a strong field of competitors. The ambition of the Project 1 AO team is big; the team not only wants to fight for the one-day title, but also for the overall victory.

Axel Funke: “For the fans, the long wait is finally over. For the Project 1 AO team, the FIA WEC season opener at the Sebring circuit in the US is the culmination of a long and thorough preparation for the new season with the #56 P1 Motorsport Porsche. The test in Sebring is goiing very well and we once again learned and are able to apply a lot. Therefore, we can look forward to the first race of the season with a positive feeling. Drivers as well as (technical) team are again giving their best for a top performance in the LM GTE AM class.”.
